Week Two, Run One

Just went for my fourth run of this programme whilst my Sunday dinner was cooking away in the oven. So rather than have a post-run banana as Jo Wiley suggested, I tucked into a complete roast chicken dinner. Probably not great for digestion straight afterwards, but it was delicious !

I found the 90 seconds okay and I enjoyed running to the sound of fireworks ahead (it's Bonfire Weekend here in the UK). Still super slow but I'm exercising this 52 year old heart of mine and that's good enough for me.

Now, where did I put those indigestion tablets?

Well done on completing run 1 of week 2 BEFORE you had your Sunday dinner, if you had ate it before you ran that certainly would have caused severe indigestion, many runners take something to eat after running, not before they run, onwards and upwards to run 2 of week 2..

Well done you! Ah, Jo's banana recommendation - I often did, but, followed it with other stuff! 😂 Well, we do need to replenish! 👍🏻 But seriously, I usually run first thing so have half of that banana and an espresso before running (😱 - but I don't like going out without absolutely anything, especially these chilly mornings...)

I like the idea of an espresso beforehand - I've heard it puts a bit of extra 'pep' into your run. Might give it a try ☕

Ooh, your roast chicken dinner beats my egg and bacon etc breakfast hands down! Plus you have the perfect excuse for a nap afterwards :)

Well done MB ... I think the Sunday lunch sounds a great idea ... You can blame falling sleep on post lunch tiredness rather than post run! 😉

That meal ? That is just fine.. putting the fuel back in after your cool down and shower... sounds good to me! On you go!

Well done on keeping up with your runs! My fourth run is due today, I hope I’ll make it! (No chicken prize for me, but definitely an espresso before the run!)

Porridge pre run and cafe coffee on the way home followed by toasted tea cake and eventually a bacon and avocado toasted sandwich. Ready for a sleep now!
