Week 6 Completed

Having returned from a ITB/ hamstring injury I have mainly been running on the treadmill. I’m hoping to manage a 5k but I’m so slow!!! My first 25 minute run yesterday I completed 3k. In Jan I completed C25K plus 4 x 30 minute runs. I never managed further than 4.25k. I’m 57. Is anyone else as slow?!

hey Maggie-Moo ..you are running, that’s the main thing…and you’re doing sooooooo well!!! Remember this…a 25 minutes 5k is just as far as a 40 minute 5k…doesn’t matter how long it takes..look how far you’ve come …4k, 3k, 2k is more than you thought you’d ever do I’m sure …just keep on running no matter how far x

Not too slow.... is anyone else running at a pace that is theirs alone:) We all have our own happy pace... we run comfortably and we run enjoyably!

Have a read of the latest Catch Up Corner post...

Hi Maggie-Moo slower steady runner here, please don't compare yourself to any other runners out there - this is your running journey no one else's, you may be amazed to know who is inspired by you right now ....I am ....I nowhere near running for 25 mins yet 😂

Yes, don't worry. When I first did c25k in 2016 I ran 4k in the 30 minutes and despite continuing running for 4 years, didn't get a lot faster. It didn't affect my enjoyment from running though, and I stopped comparing myself to others who were 30 years younger, and fitter overall

Thanks. Unfortunately I got out of bed with a stiff back last weekend so I’ve given myself a few days rest. I’m hoping to get running again tomorrow. My plan is to use the treadmill as less impact and perhaps go back a week?

Not what you're looking for?
