I did it! I did it! Can't believe it! Just back home and celebrating with a cappuccino π
I read a brilliant post last night with tips (FAQ How to run C25K by IannodaTruffe) and it the bit about slowing down really helped me. About 10mins in really wanted a walking break but just slowed down like the guy in the video (tap, tap, tap π) for a while, told myself I was taking a break and then went off again.
The other thing I did was to smile all the way through and kept telling myself "I love running", "this is getting easier", "you're gonna do it", after the 10 min mark, I just zoned out to the music.
I've been listening to Laura on the podcast up to today but thought that some music would help me more today. Had a Spotify playlist ready and the kick ass music really helped. Started with 'The Eye of the Tiger', well you have to don't you π and Rage Against the Machine brought me home π to the 20 min mark and then I burst in to tears, I am so happy!
I was worried all week that I wouldn't be able to do it, but I did! It feels unreal. I just couldn't be more proud of myself, I feel invincible. So grateful for all the tips I got from this forum, thank you xxx

This is awesome to read π and you should absolutely be proud of yourself! Iβll be doing week 5 run 3 on Monday morning and Iβm really looking forward to it, so thank you for posting your experience π
Hope you enjoyed your celebration cappuccino and have a wonderful weekend π€ xx
Thanks ToothPickJafah π and you're welcome, thought to post what worked for me as I got so many helpful tips from others. The very best of luck with your Wk5 Run 3 on Monday! You'll be amazing - enjoy every minute π
I did enjoy my celebration cappuccino thanks. Have a wonderful weekend you too and can't wait to celebrate with you on Monday π€
Thank you Dendev75! Yeah, elated is the word alright and it is a huge accomplishment.π
Thanks for the advice re next run, will take your (and yes the very lovely and helpful Iannoda's) advice and slow down and do talk test! Thanks a mill π€
I like your music choice Dancerunner, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, you should be very proud of yourself, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran
Thanks AIMorr! Yeah, the music was epic! Thank you, it is a huge milestone and I"m glad to be on the other side of it π Thanks for the Wk6 Run 1 tip, I'll take it handy! π€
Oh that's so well done. That last run of week 5 was the one I was most worried about. Lights out, guerrilla radio really helped spur me on through a few toughies. Now you've done this run it should feel like plain sailing. You really have got this. The first ten minutes of every run are the hardest. Rock playlists do work well. Iron maiden and placebo have been good partners too :)All the best.
thanks Frankenfoot23 - plain sailing sounds good π but great to be on the other side of that run. Comforting to know it's not just me that find the first 10 mins hard! Yeah, rock worked so well π All the best to you too
