Well thank heaven I was out ready to run with trainers on, music ready when I pressed run πββοΈ a voice said βtoday you are going to run 20 minutesβ!! What?? I thought I had pressed the wrong week I had to double check π but you know what I DID IT π so chuffed with myself I really am π
Week 5 run 3: Well thank heaven I was out ready... - Couch to 5K
Week 5 run 3
Congratulations on that very special run.
Stay nice and slow for the next run.........it catches out more people than any other run in the programme.
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran
That run is a wonderful achievement, bet you are still smiling about it
Yay well done ππ₯³
I'm due to do this run tomorrow eep! βΊοΈ Go us 1/2 way through the plan already π
Brilliant! That one is a bit of a surprise, but how great is this plan that it all seems to work out?? Well doneππ
It feels good, that one! Great stuff! πππ
Well done, you should be chuffed ππππ»
Am sure there were quite a few with the same reaction as you on hearing the 20 min run, including me (and Iβm on my second time round, this time running outdoors and finding it more challenging)
Keep running πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ, you can and will do it.
Keep safe
Fantastic!!! A huge achievement!! Well done!! Such a great feeling.π€xx
Amazing, well done!! I wish Iβd not looked at what was to come - the second the voice said wk5 is 3 different runs I couldnβt resist seeing what lay in store! Have now done runs 1&2, and am terrified of 3!!! Was planning on re-doing run 2 as mentally 20 mins just feels too big a jump! But you did it!ππ» So maybe I should just try! π¬
I understand your apprehension completely. But I made it, after finding this forum..(before I just kept repeating w5r2). Then I got inspired by others, learned slow running, and allowed myself to think I could always stop if I wanted. But I didnt..and never have since. It is quite liberating. Go Girl!
Most definitely just go for it!! Honestly its not so bad I just kept looking ahead and concentrating on what Paul Wellar was singing πππ
Thanks will give it my best go! Can I ask a daft question - how do you listen to music as well as the app? I need to hear when to walk/run normally so have never had music while running but it would be a good distraction for the long run! X
You just have what you want to hear on your iPhone or what whatever you use. When you press week 3 a message pops up telling you to press play on you music choice. The instructor still comes in over your music to tell you how you are doing and when to stop, start ect πyou will love having some tunes playing I would find it quite boring without. I have waterproof headphones when I go swimming too πΆ
yeah, this took me some time. Start the music app, then start the C25K app, and their talk will override the music when they need to talk. i listen to podcasts and it works like this...good podcasts get so interesting that you forget the time π€£. keep us posted.
Love the idea of a podcast actually, was a bit concerned about music making me run too fast and getting puffed out too quickly! A bit of Louis Theroux could be perfect!! What do you like to listen to? I have only just started listening to podcasts so there's probably loads I am missing out on!! x
Well I'm probably older and longer in the tooth than you are, but Jane Garvey on Radio 4 has started some real life stories which are rather compelling. The first one is about a man falling on a woman in a shopping centre and disabling her for life. It certainly took my mind off running, BUT beware...its only 30 minutes, so I had 5 minutes at the end with nothing, waiting for Laura to tell me I was done !! So look at the length of them before you start them. Have a practice today on setting it up so you waste no time fiddling with the phone for this run,,,,good luck!
Thank you so much, that sounds very interesting- harder to think about feeling tired listening to that! Xxx
I really like The Naked Podcast, though it won't be everybody's cup of tea: bbc.co.uk/programmes/p063wf...
I am not IT at all so this may sound a stupid question but how do I find podcasts? Never listened to them before π€
π€£ made me laugh. Well done.
Well done. I completed that run yesterday and was really nervous about it. But we did it eh!
Well done PollyGray, I couldn't resist looking ahead. It's a confidence booster getting a continual run done. Good luck with week 6.
Woohoo! Good for you! ππ»π That run is such a psychological breakthrough. I think thatβs the one when I exclaimed βWhat??!!β out loud on the pavement, (making an unfortunate dog walker jump a mile) when Lauraβs voice told me what I would be doing! ππ
Well done PollyGray! I completed that run on Thursday and it was a fantastic feeling afterwards. I'm doing W6 R1 tomorrow and looking forward to it. Never thought I'd say that about running! Good luck with your next run. Onwards and upwards πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπ
Definitely! We can compare notes π
