Week 5 run 3

Currently sat down with a lovely hot cup of celebratory tea, feeling pretty proud of myself because I just completed the 20 min run. When I say run I mean pretty ploddy jog but I didn't stop or slow down to a walk at all, it fekf like a jump but I trusted the programme and just turned my music up loud. I am doing the programme on my treadmill in the privacy of my own little bubble. I am 3+ stone over weight so not ready for the outside world yet, but I can share my victory dance with you on here.

Yay, well done you! It's a brilliant feeling, isn't it? Enjoy your tea and your victory dance - you have earned them!

Great job... you can’t beat that post long run cuppa in my opinion!

You’ll soon be ready to show the world your abilities... there’s many runners out there carrying a couple or more stones that they don’t need... I have one myself!

Slow and steady into week 6 and then you got this.

Love a victory dance 💃💃💃

Well done you 👏👏👏 and don't be concerned about going outside, if you are a morning person (I'm not!) then I am assured by friends that there is no one about :) and to be honest nobody sees runners, even if you shuffle along like me 🐌 Good luck with the rest of the program 😊 and congratulations on smashing wk 5 👍👍

Thanks I felt fab finishing it, but having to take a few days off before doing wk 6 race 2, because I am in agony with my sciatic nerve at the minute. My chiropractor has told me it is not from the jogging but to take a break while the pain is so acute, hopefully have trainers back on on Saturday.

Oh that's pants :( sciatica is just horrible. Are you ok walking? If so can you go for a 30 min walk to keep you in the routine? You may be fine but I need it to keep me on track :)

I hope feel better very soon 👍

Walking is still a bit painful but it usually eases by about day 3 which is tomorrow, so going to try a 30 min walk on Wednesday. I need it to keep me on track because I'm afraid of I don't keep setting the time aside I will quickly become less motivated and use my back as an excuse, when in reality this programme and further runs after week 9 will only strengthen my back in the long run. Thanks for the encouragement I'm new to all this forun stuff still getting used to it.

Congratulations on doing the 20 minuter without stopping. I did it this morning in the wind determined not to let Michael down. Great course for making us believe in ourselves.

Oh, sciatica is horrible. I know it intimately. Enjoy your rest days, and I hope you manage to get some relief.
