Hi lucasdad , welcome! The best advice I can give is to read the How to run C25K progamme guide - healthunlocked.com/couchto5... - and take on board the masses of useful advice it provides.

Oh, and believe in yourself, and have fun!

Welcome! You’ve made a great choice to start c25k again. You know you can do it because you’ve done it before-you’ll have skills and experience that will help you this time.

There’s a brilliant little guide to the programme here with lots of helpful hints and tips.  Well worth a read.  Most important is keeping it slow and steady at a pace where you can talk in full sentences without gasping.  Most of us go too fast! Recovery days between runs are absolutely essential too.

It’s worth building in strength and flex work to improve your resistance to injury. There’s a great sister forum here with lots of information and support for where you might like to start.

Most of all, I’d recommend treating this as a new experience and not comparing to how you might have been running before. It’s easier to celebrate the successes you’ll have and the progress you’ll make thinking about this as a new starting line

Ask any questions you have and come back with updates. We’re here to cheer you on.

Really good luck to you 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Hey lucasdad - well done for starting again. I have started three times now and today I finally completed week9 run 3. I've learnt that each time I did the program, I became more aware of how much I was doing the running for me and that made it easier to get out there each time and do the next run. It didn't matter if I completed weeks in one go or it took several times to move on, it was just about being out three times a week and running. I think I am more likely to keep on running now because it took me three attempts over two years to do the program. I know now why I am running (because I enjoy how it makes me feel) and I know that it doesn't matter what anyone else is doing as life throws challenges and curveballs at everyone and as long as I know that I enjoy running, I can always come back to a different point in the C25K and build up my fitness again. Enjoy repeating the program and building up your fitness - it's always there for you.

just take your time and enjoy not sure if enjoy is the right word but remember what ever you do is better than doing nothing it will be hard and feel like giving up but the satisfaction at the end is worth it good luck

Well done for starting it again. I'd say take it slow and listen to your body. Don't compare yourself to anyone else and enjoy it! 🙂

Echoing what Remus71 said, take it slow and listen to your body. Good luck!🙂
