Should I start again?

I graduated over a year ago but at the moment I am having trouble finding(making) time to get out three times a week . Life just seems to get in the way . I’ve been out this morning but couldn’t complete my usual30 minutes had to stop at 25. Any tips out there as to how to get back into this groove. Should I begin C25K again from the beginning? ☹️

I don’t know the answers but if it was me i’d make a plan to get out there go slow and see what happens then decide if i needed the plan again or if i could just build up slowly

One thing I have learned is that half an hour isn’t that long in a day and as long as i get out there and move it doesn’t matter if i can only run a few steps and walk the rest it’s a win win as better than not bothering

Thanks for that. I think that makes sense. I need to make the time as I did last year.

If you can run for 25 minutes then you don't need to redo the plan to rebuild your fitness but it sounds as if you need some structure to get you out of the door on a regular basis.

I have always been very flexible in my running but tended to plan around a long run at the weekend (which day depending on commitments and weather) and then a couple of 5ks before work, again fitting around weather. This works for me, and allows me to set weekly targets for each run. Targets, however simple, provide satisfaction and a feeling of progress. With no targets your running can seem aimless.

So what are your targets?

How are you going to achieve those targets?

Thank you for sound advice. I’ve been reading some of your earlier advice and have come to the conclusion I need a plan each week so that I know when I am going for a run and everything else can fit in around it.

I am going to set some targets and write them in the diary so i can’t just roll over and go back to sleep . Much prefer early morning running so set the alarm!

👍

I am sure that will help and give you that boost when you bit a target. I am not a competitive runner so it was the way that I got through that phase, until running was simply a thing that I do because I love it.

That was me last year. Need to think back to that and remember what a buzz running gives me. Thank you for your help 👍

Keep on buzzing Granny. Us silver striders have got to keep up the standards as an example to these youngsters. You can do it Gel!
