Denise suggested that today was an opportunity to step things up so I decided to try and keep up a slightly faster pace (11.30 mins/mile rather than 12). Just about managed it but at the cost of enjoyment as I found myself counting down the minutes rather than relishing the moment. Back to 12 min miles for R3 and I will let an increase in pace happen naturally as my fitness and stamina grows over the forthcoming weeks.
A tough one today - W8 R2: Denise suggested that... - Couch to 5K
A tough one today - W8 R2
Well done with the run !And yes, don't worry about trying to pick the pace up yet .
Just keep at a conversational pace .
As you said , it may have cost you the enjoyment .
It's often surprising what difference a small change in pace can make .
Enjoy the last 4 runs 🙂👍
Well done.
Now you have got to this point, you might find browsing through the FAQ Posts useful healthunlocked.com/couchto5... especially the one about getting faster.
No need to push for now.
Well done buddy for R2! I've been finding R2's tough too over the past few weeks but I think one of your previous posts said you ran at a slow but comfortable pace so I took your advice and done my R2 last night and found I did a solid steady run. Like you said speed will come in time, for now we just need to concentrate on completing this C25K and carry on with some consolidation runs up until Christmas. We can do this! 👊
Sounds like we have all the answers……10 days to graduation…. see you there and best wishes for W9…. we can do it.
Very sensible course of action. You're in , literally, no rush.
