I went out eagerly anticipating a good run. However, I won't lie, it was tough and felt like an eternity. My pace was as it usually is but for some reason I ended up just plodding and wishing for Laura to tell me to go home.
As the saying goes, not every run can be a great run but there is good in every run.
It felt great when I got to the end though 😆.
Right - cup of tea, shower and back to work.

Those sorts of runs can feel like an absolute grind. Really well done on getting through it! That’s a big achievement. I often find after a run like that, the next one is much better. Fingers crossed for yours!
The more you run, the more bad ones you’ll have! The best news is the more good ones you’ll have too-they make the duff ones more than worth it! Plus you learn that you’re tougher than you think. Sometimes it’s actually really tough to say “not my day” and cut your run short and have another go another time.
Hi Alan, having just read your post - I can only concur with everyone else and I can also empathise with you totally! I have these days on occasion and sometimes there may not be a reason to it, I always remember my daughter saying to me once, as I was struggling through my first C25K - a bad run is no run at all
I also commend you for having to go back to work also! I tend to do most of my running at the end of the day except my Saturday runs!
All the best Alan - as Laura says - You're doing great!
I have felt like this a couple of times recently over these longer runs. Everything seems to ache, knees, hips etc. I'm giving myself an extra day this week. I think sometimes you just need to be kind to yourself.
