I did it! I managed to complete week 5run 3! I never thought I’d be able to run that long so I’m so pleased with myself!
My problem was that I found my legs to be very heavy and I thought at one point they were going to to completely! How do I overcome this? I feel that I’ve come so far I’d be so upset to stop at this point. I’m sure I drank enough water. Perhaps I need a better warm up programme if anyone has any links?
Thanks everyone and enjoy your run whoever is out there today!

Well done, it's great you've done that stretch of non stop running! As for heavy legs, there's definitely a link to hydration so it's worth keeping that up every day, not just on run day. Anything can impact, lack of sleep etc so sometimes it's just a heavy legs day! That said, this week 5 run 3 non stop run is very new to your body. You will get stronger and stronger! I wouldn't think about it too much, because you've just done something amazing!
Thank you so much! I’m for once actually proud of myself but also a bit disappointed I found it so hard as on the 8 minute runs my pace was picking up comfortably. Is it worth doing week 5 run 3 again or go straight to week 6. Thanks so much for your encouragement
I would definitely carry on to week 6, although that 1st run of week 6 looks easier because you go back to run/walk, actually the total running time goes up. No need to repeat as it's a well designed programme. You say your pace had been picking up. I would say slow down! The aim is not to get faster, but to be able to run for 30 minutes. Maybe on this run you were going a bit too fast, hence the heavy legs!Speed is absolutely of no relevance at all! Good luck!
Ah maybe I’ve let my hydration slip on my non running days! I’ll keep an eye on it. Thank you for the tip I’ll keep it slow! Do you have any advice/videos for warm up exercises?!
