Week 5 Run 3

I did it!! If you told me 5 weeks ago that I’d be able to run 20 minutes without stopping there’s no way I would’ve believed you! Once I completed the 20 minutes, I had some crazy thought to carry on for another 5, so I did!

To anyone reading this, dreading this run (just like I was), you CAN do it! It’s true that it’s a mind challenge, just keep telling yourself you can do it and you will! I found it really helps that you are reminded how much you have run every 5 minutes! Break it down, it’s just 4x 5 minute runs!

Congratulations Jazz95on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs 🏃 😊

Congratulations and well done Jazza, you've passed a significant milestone in the C25k journey 🙂

Did you enjoy that you didn't have to stop to walk in the middle of running? Most new runners say that they prefer it because it's just like going for a run. Most of your runs in the last few weeks will be like the one today so I'm really glad it went well for you.

Thank you for the encouraging words to other new runners too 👍

Thank you. I am just preparing to go out for same run today. Feeling a bit nervous but keep telling myself if it doesn't happen today, there's always the next run but secretly hoping I feel like you at the end. Wish me luck!

How did it go?!?

Hiya. Thanks for asking. ..it was brilliant! Like you I felt I could keep going but instead, when Laura said 2 minutes left, I increased my pace which made me feel better. Think I am probably going too slowly generally but don't want to hurt my knees so being a bit carefull as they can be painful occasionally.

Just looked at week 6 though and it seems to go backwards before forwards but will stick to it to the word.... it is certainly working as I couldn't run for a bus 5 weeks ago! Good luck to you too.

Hi, I'm on week 5 & I have been repeating wk 5 day 2 several times because I know what's coming on day 3 & I keep putting it off 🤔

Hey, I was dreading it so much, even minutes before I wasn’t sure I was going to do it. I only just managed W5R2, so I’d say if you are able to do that give run 3 a go!!

Good luck 🏃🏻‍♀️

Have faith...it does work and for the first time, I felt I really got a rhythm going. Just relax and take it slowly. You can do it! Good luck.

Well done! I’ve got wk5r3 tomorrow, and I feel a bit apprehensive about it...how can we go from running 8 mins to 20!! I’m hoping I feel like you and I breeze through it, got my 80s tunes lined up ready 🤪

Well done! That’s amazing! Same run coming up for me later today and I’m dreading it but I’m determined to stay positive and give it my best shot. I’ve completed all the runs so far each week but this is the first big one!
