I had initially planned to do the big Week 5 20 minute run early this morning because when I checked the weather forecast last night there was only meant to be a 40% chance of rain. However, I awoke to lashing wind and rain on my bedroom window (and the weather app had changed to a 98% chance of rain) so I decided I’d postpone my run until after work.
Unfortunately the weather didn’t improve much by the time I’d logged off for the day but the wind had settled down a bit so I thought I’d head out regardless, even though I was a little apprehensive about running my first 20 minute run in the pouring rain...
However, once I was out there I was absolutely fine and actually really enjoyed it once I settled into my pace. That’s not to say it was easy but it was definitely more of a mental battle than a physical one.
Anyway, long story short I’m so pleased that I managed to run for the 20 minutes without stopping!! 🥳
On to Week 6!

Despite the wind and rain you ran non stop for 20 minutes, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just, hopefully the weather will be better. 😊 🏃🏾
Well done LR, it’s a great feeling isn’t it? I completed the same run this morning too and have been feeling dead proud all day. I wrote very similar things - that it was very much a mental battle but we both smashed it. 🤜💪
Have a great weekend - hopefully week 6 goes well for us (and its a lot less soggy) 😃
Congrats StoneDragon! It is such a great feeling having completed it, especially in the heavy rain ☺️. Have a fab weekend too and here’s hoping for a drier week 6 - we’ve got this!! 🙌🏼
