I’m due to take on the 20 minute run today and I’m worried I’ll not be able to do it. I know that the only person I’d let down is myself. Any advice please xxx
Week 5 Run 3: I’m due to take on the 20 minute... - Couch to 5K
Week 5 Run 3
Why predict failure? You have got this far and the beauty of this programme is that each run prepares you for the next. Thousands have gone before you and have faced this one down. You can too! As usual set out nice and slow.
Practice a positive mindset- You've got this
My advice is to not do it alone. Have you got a running partner who can keep you going
Hi Cherublizzie, as Hidden says, you will do fine! The program works and it has prepared you for the next run, as it has done until now. 20 minutes may sound like a lot, but you are ready for it!! 💪 Just relax, trust yourself, go slow 🐌 and steady as you have done so far and you will have a huge happy grin on your face very soon!! 😃
If you wish a more rational and detailed explanation about why it is not such a big deal, you can read this post by IannodaTruffe : healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Enjoy W5R3, it is an awesome one! 🐌💪😊
Think positive ! Go slow and steady (reduce your pace) ! Get some good tunes ready and tell yourself your going to smash it. I completed that week and wasn’t looking forward to it but not as bad as you may think. Remember you’ve already run 20 but just not all in one go. Good luck 💪
Whatnog has already pointed you towards a post breaking down the challenge of W5, but you may find this one about general mental approach helpful too. healthunlocked.com/couchto5....
You can do this.
I would just run a bit slower.I was worried yesterday about running for 28 minutes as I struggled a bit with the last 25 but slowed down and did it no problem. If I can do it you can do it.let us know how you get on.
Just to update you all...I have been out in the fog and completed the run. Five minutes in I thought about just giving up and going home as I thought I’d never manage the full 20 minutes. But I kept powering through and thinking of all the positive vibes you had sent and I made it. I’m so proud! Happy Saturday everyone!
Well done. The only hard thing about W5R3 is getting your head round it.
