If course its a early sign of addiction, well done on buying proper running shoes and socks to match.

Nah! Until you have more running shoes than me, you're not addicted. And I wasn't even a runner until I started C25K.

Sock Shop doesn't stock my sort of socks. They need to have toes. See avatar photo.

I was managing quite happily until a week or so when someone mentioned running socks, so I bought some to see what they where. Then decided to buy new running shoes to match - my old ones actually had the wrong support for my gait so feel that was justified!

Can I ask do you feel the socks make a difference?

Not sure to be honest as I changed my shoes at the same time.

They are padded on the heels and toes so must be better than normal socks.

Tho ones i bought feel padded and supportive and very comfy. Only ran a couple of times in them but the seem great. I thought a sock was a sock!

Haha! I didn’t know they were a thing either until a couple of weeks ago. 😄 I’ve also treated myself to new running shoes as well as the socks - can’t quite believe it’s me.

I have gone through a LOT of trainers over the years! I have stupid flat feet and over pronate so I unfortnaly can’t have what I want (the pretty ones) and have to have motion control or my ankles grind, my calves kill and my knees and lower back hurt x so I’m used to the trainers addiction but the socks business is entirely down to this site! I am going to be so poor now hahah

Uuu what shoes have you ordered? 😀

Well I found out about the running socks straight after my first run of week 1 - because I had blisters and asked on the forum here how can I manage this - I was advised the running socks and gosh it did made the difference!

They are asics, Theres two of them and they have laces. Thats about as technical i can get with them :) Gel-Venture 7 i think. They are Trail Running ones due to most of my running is off road and forest. I had probs finding stock my size so was very limited to choice. But they were on offer so id thought id give em a go.

That "on offer" part is definetely a deal breaker 😄

I feel the need to buy running socks now to join the club 😂

Although, I may wait until the next month for my wedding anniversary and maybe hubby will buy these for me (instead of flowers 💐) 😂 (never In a million years I would expect to say that I want socks not flowers 😂

Definitely an early sign of addiction, you’ll be asking for running gear for your birthday and Christmas next.
