Getting serious

Hello everyone,

I´ve been running for a while, on and off inbetween various injuries, small and serious ones, and again eager to finally get somewhere in my running. Specifically, I´ll be doing the Cancer Research Run in Vienna again this year (5. Oct) and this time I want to run a much more respectable distance without running out of breath and/or aches and pains.

Reading your posts already helps a great deal. But now you´ll know who I am when I start commenting, surely more often than not, I´ll be asking .... asking .... asking. ; )

Cheers, Schnitzerl

Thank you!

I jumped in at week 3 (90 / 120?), "knowing" I´ve done some running in the past. Not very heat resistent (33°C), I went to the Gym again, the treadmill, but determined to go the park early tomorrow morning!

Following the programme, I took it at a slower pace. Muuuuuch nicer! :) And only 20 mins, but that was really enough. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Although it didn´t seem as strenuous, I did fall asleep on the couch at 8:30pm. Slept (in bed) through until 6am - full 9 hours! So happy and content! Of course I do feel several body parts, but that was to be expected at my age. Apart from applying gels and creams, what remedy suggestions do you have, if at all appropriate?

Doing some walk to and in the Theater Museum in town (Vienna) at lunch in very cool conditions today.

Not what you're looking for?
