A serious case of running-related shopoholic-ism

Oh dear, a quick visit to town to buy a hydration backpack ended with a bag stuffed with... a hydration backpack, a long-sleeved neon yellow running top, long black running tights and multi-colour running socks. Oops! I resisted the clip-on lights that were also calling out to me - a girl's got to have limits! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Excellent- Iโ€™m sure it was all essential stuff ๐Ÿ˜†

Absolutely ๐Ÿ˜ Maybe I should steer clear of shops for a while though!

You're right - got to get my money's worth!

At least you remembered the hydration backpack. Sometimes I get so engrossed I go home with various items but not what I actually went out to buy!

Yes, I've done that before - quite proud I remembered the backpack now you mention it! ๐Ÿ˜

Costing me a fortune this! Itโ€™s all the different weather you need to prepare for ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yes me too. And we thought running is the exercise you can do for free!

Haha! I need to go shopping.

Having only run in warm weather parkrun this morning was a bit of a shock! My poor son was in shorts and a t-shirt and found it very chilly. I kept my jumper on in case I needed to walk (first proper run since injury) but definitely need to get properly kitted out for the winter! ๐Ÿ˜

Yes it was freezing wasn't it?! I had to jump up and down all through the announcements to keep from shivering! Going to wear my new gear next time - arms and ankles covered!

That's great news you are running again - did it go ok?

Yes thanks! Was aiming for 30mins and got 29:04 with no pain so pretty pleased. Got to run in with a lady I sometimes train with for her first sub30.

I've run in with two people now for their first sub30s and can honestly say it feels more rewarding than any of my own PB's ๐Ÿ˜

Yay! Sounds good! Someone told me they ran behind me to get their PB, but I didn't know until afterwards - still felt nice!

I will be volunteering as Tailwalker next week so if you are running, give us a wave as you whizz by!

Amazing time as you are still recovering! Wowsers!

It's great to know you helped someone isn't it?

Was hoping for sub25 by Christmas but that's looking a bit out of reach now with my injury. Nevermind though - I started couch25k to make the army run entrance time and I can easily do that now just got to get them to accept someone as blind as me ๐Ÿคฃ

Tailwalker's my favourite volunteer role - enjoy!

I'm back up time keeper at Eastbourne junior parkrun tomorrow - bit too much responsibility ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

How did timekeeper duties go? Sounds nerve-wracking! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

pianoteacher profile image
pianoteacherGraduate in reply to MutleyShuffle

It was really fun! Lovely to see all the kids coming over the finish line ๐Ÿ˜ It wasn't nearly as nerve wracking as I thought it would be but there were only 54 finishers and they were quite spread out! Not sure it would be quite so easy at normal parkrun x

Aw, sounds great! Well volunteered! ๐Ÿ˜‡

Wow, thatโ€™s a great time for a first post-injury run.

You must be a lucky charm for other runners. ๐Ÿ€

Thanks Raz! I was really pleased with it. Hopefully going to gradually work back to my pre injury pace over the coming weeks x

All very essential, now the weather is getting colder. Iโ€™d have had the lights too! As it will be dark earlier and earlier from now on.

You know you're addicted when your running kit takes up more space in your wardrobe than all your other clothes put together. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
