Week 7 - things are getting serious

Against all odds (feeling weak and ill, wind, showers, sun straight to my eyes) I went out with enormous push of my will, some good words from Hidden . I managed to do all 25 minutes. The first 10 min was quite easy as I picked new route, so I was concentrated not to get lost in the winding streets. Then I somehow got to part of my more known route. I realized that this part is a little up (not hill, but definitely the street is going up). Anyway I was running on the power of will only, counting almost every step. I was just fully concentrated on putting one leg in front of the other with this tiny moment of having both feet above the ground. Lungs working as huges bellows, salty sweat getting into my eyes, the loud heartbeat in my ears. My thoughts running crazy in panic, couldn't focus on anything. Last 5 min was fight for survival, I might've pushed myself too much, although my pace was slow (and steady). My finish aka last 60 seconds was keep those legs moving, my 'sprint' was the same snaily pace as before. And then Laura saved me :) I prayed for my legs not to stop and keep moving by something what humans call walking. Well basicly I was trying no to collapse. I reached home, kind of sit down to stretch, well... more accurate would be to say that I fell on the floor, put my legs wider and bend to hang like a sack of potatoes. Then amazing shower, thank to the person who invented it! And now...

Now I am alive! Tired as hell, but so happy and calm :) no stress, no worries, happy to be alive, pround to start week 7, proud to conquer my weakness, proud not to give up in the middle of the run, proud of not getting lost, with nice warm feeling in my body with my muscles still warm :) Happy that now I can just lay down and rest :)

Keep running, keep smiling!

Keep pushing, keep improving!

Love you all my fellow runners!

Proud is good, showers are better. Well done you for overcoming feeling poorly and getting out there, especially on the Week 7 Run, which is yet another step up. Well done indeed

Thank you. A big chunk of my will was fueled by your post and our conversation ;)

Amazing feeling of completing this run :D

You have your own willpower tank, I thought you'd only try.... instead you did it all. So well done for the grit

Great run!!!

It seems to me that you do really well if you set all the odds against you........there's some stubborn grit in there.

Well done and proud you should be.

I think I have some stubborn side inside me, so I want to run when I cannot and the better I do the more I have against me

O_O

Sometimes all I need is someone to help me dig this girl out ;)

Stubborn, bloody minded, smug and pink........the only requirements for success as a runner.

To be successful I need more discipline to go oit there on more regular basis ;)

Well done! It's amazing how good you feel after a run - especially after you've had a good shower!!

Hi well done I complete w7r1 last night too. It was so hard but I did it. Ache this morning tho and walking round like an old woman. I wanted to give up at 12 mins but I kept pushing on. Need to do more leg stretching I think. But well done and keep me posted on run 2 (mines Monday)

Congratulations on not giving up and completing the run!

My throat hurts more than before, but my legs are quasi fine. I feel them, but they are not sore.

Stretching and hot shower/bath help A LOT!

It's the stretching I'm not doing and it's showing.

This shows great way to stretch:

Sometimes I do only few exercises from it, not the whole routine, as I think it's better than nothing. Once I had to jump under shower the first thing I came back (some new skin allergy to wash off my legs), but then I did few minor stretches under the shower :P mainly hamstrings ;)
