Abominable week that got even worse Saturday - my Run Day - morning got snafud on top of snafus, definitely no run then. Got back late evening from wrestling with other peoples problem causing asshatedness, felt like hell and in a very foul mood. Only reason I then went out was the commitment to an event in September.
I VERY rarely run at night, had to turn back on my driveway as one of my socks was chafing my little toe, changed socks, back out, to the Park, dang it - at that late hour there were still a few dogwalkers with those accursed extending leashes cluttering the way, started running...
And don't ask me how or why, but I have never had such an effortless run. It was one of only two or three times in seven years that I truly felt I was running like a "real runner" and not simply within the physical limitations I am lumbered with.
I needed that boost. Don't know how it happened, but it sure felt transcendental π
I guess I won't quit this running lark just yet lol

Sorry to hear you had such a rubbish day but brilliant that you had a good run. One of those elusive runs that keep us going through those weeks when we feel like we're running through treacle. They pop up when least expected!
Oh, wow! That's just brilliant. Way to go to guts it out and step out to run after a day like that. That step was massive, but then to start AGAIN after sock-gate makes it better still. And then to accept it is what it is when seeing the long-lead dogs ... well, you were due the sunshine that your run brought to your heart in your nighttime run. Lovely stuff!
Thank you G. I was fit to murder that evening - visions of uncouth dog walkers hanging upside down from the trees by their accursed extending leads LOL.The Running Gods probably figured urgent intervention needed lol
Sorry to hear you had such a bad week.. hope your transcendental run marks the beginning of a better one.. and great progress towards your family run in September πππ½ββοΈπ
Thank you PS πIt certainly lifted my mood, and reminded me of how much of life is actually beyond our control
Had a stern chat with my Chief next morning reminding him - and myself - that they asked me to join the company, and if that means they need me they better start acting like it.
100% improvement in resource supplies resulted π
I definitely got the gist of this and delighted that everything worked brilliantly in the end for you. I had to google snafud on top of snafus though - what fabulous acronyms! π.
