Just home from my second run of week 7. Can't believe I'm this close to completing the 7th week π€£
My third full 25 minutes run done and I'm genuinely so chuffed π.
Tracking my runs and managed to do 2.03 miles in my 25 minutes. Most ground I've covered yet but still a bit off the 3 miles needed for 5k. The fact I'm getting closer every run though is definitely good motivation.
Roll on friday for the 3rd run of this week and then I know I'll be ready to tackle week 8 πββοΈ
Confidence is slowly building!
Well done to everybody taking part in this π₯³

I didnβt do it in 30 minutes for a little while... didnβt much care either! Forgetting the 0.1 was incredibly annoying... I forgot to celebrate running the 3 π€£
I can imagine. The first run of this week I got to 1.99 miles and I was so disappointed I never made 2 mile π€£ I know it doesnt even matter but I was kicking myself that I didn't keep going that tiny bit long so it must have been worse for you π€£
I was ok... done my stretches, laid flat with my legs up a tree... then I saw my achievements and was wondering why I hadnβt been credited a 5k PB. Not good at all! Still, relatively recently neither of us had a mile run in us... I always tend to look back these days... Iβm much better at this than that guy!
Hi, Iβm at the same stage, but after watching the Japanese slow jogging video on this site (somewhere) I tried that and it made the run much more enjoyable and I covered the same ground as I had in my previous random running style! I just use the health app on my iPhone but need to get a smarter watch or something. Suddenly I am keen for more stats! Good luck.
Don't get me wrong, I struggle with every run. It's not exactly easier but I can definitely see I am progressing. I use an app called track my run. As soon as the 25 minutes starts I start the app then stop it as soon as the 25 minutes is up. This let's me see my pace and distance so I can see whether I am improving that way or not π
Iβve just completed W7R3 and in the rain which believe it or not was quite refreshing & I recorded it on Strava as moderate effort. Looking forward to Wk8 as Iβm really starting to enjoy my running πββοΈ
I am at the same stage and am delighted that I now enjoy running much more than I thought I would. The bit I like the most... that feel good factor afterwards. There is nothing like it. I enjoy a wee cycle too but I think the runners high is unique! Good luck to you!
Iβve just completed Week 7 and feel exactly like you exhilarated that Iβve achieved this would have never thought this possible but Iβm just about thinking I maybe a runner πββοΈπͺ
I doubt I'll do a 5k in 30 minutes but that's okay. Because once you can run 30 minutes easily can get faster. It's not really the pace but the muscles... I'm aiming to get to 45 minutes...
No, theres no way I'll get to it either. Not straight away. But every run is progress so we will get there eventually. Slow and steady wins the race π€£
Completed my week 7, run 2 today too, in the rain and the wind. Changed my route slightly. Hard work to begin with but seemed to get easier. Felt very satisfied when I'd finished. I have running friend too who gives me hints and tips and follows me on strava.
