I felt I had to take a break as since Friday we have had gale force winds and even when they ‘calmed down’ by Monday, it was still too strong for me to run in. I live right by the sea, on a Hebridean island, very open and exposed, and with lockdown I can’t go to the sheltered park we have as it is too far away. So local is my option.
So today I put my big girls pants on and went and did it. Slow, and blowing at first, but I managed it. Fine weather scheduled so hope to get back into my normal rhythm- started onApril 1 and have only taken one extra day of rest until now!

We don't have too many people here on C25K who live on a Hebridean island, is it outer Hebrideas like Barra or Lewis or inner Hebrideas like Mull or The Isle of Skye, just a little interested as I am also a runner and live in Scotland, yes it was a very windy last weekend, however, this coming weekend is to be very warm, enjoy your runs, it won't be long before you graduate. 😊 🏃🏾
Good for you! I live on the coast in the south west. A little tamer than you, but the winds blow up the Bristol Channel. I used to hate running in the wind, but I'm learning to love it.
That's brilliant, I stay on an island to, understand thenwesther constraints we have to work with. Keep going, it's a great feeling and you have one more week to go, 👍
Well done for braving the weather! I think having an extra rest day is good for you sometimes. Like you, I've pretty much run every other day throughout (just did W9R1 - can't believe that!!), but was advised to take an extra day at some point and I could really feel the difference - in a good way! Hope you get some sunshine soon 😁
We were neck and neck from the beginning. Shame the bad weather has put you back a bit. I'm hitting W9R2 tomorrow. Fingers crossed I should graduate on Sunday.
