Well, running buddy and I waited for the torrential downpour to ease, before we set out. As my phone battery was irritatingly low, she suggested I start my music when I start my run, as opposed to when Jo tells me to, which is at the beginning of the warm up walk. Fine. However, when it came to the moment to get everything running, ie, music and Fitbit, it was raining gently. My iPhone 6 is a delicate little soul, and doesn’t take kindly to getting wet. But I wasn’t aware of that.
After I had been running for about five minutes, there was a funny noise, and everything went quiet. No Genesis, also, no tracking on C25K. Blast! That’s not actually what I said, but I know that you are all very nice people on here, who never swear.
After a few minutes spent faffing around resetting my music and Jo, off I went again. Only Jo had gone right back to the inspirational burble before the walk! 🤬 Then, she stopped again! The atmosphere was beginning to change to a beautiful shade of blue.
ANYWAY, I finally got everything working again, and set off in earnest (I don’t know how he felt about it). I had no idea how long I had run (I had been running on the spot, trying to sort everything out, but my friend had been using her timer on her phone. Great. That’s a relief.
All was beginning to go swimmingly, when I heard an Anglo-Saxon expletive from behind me. I turned round, whilst still jogging (amazingly I didn’t fall over!), to find her frowning and fiddling with her iPhone. That, too, had had a funny turn due to the rain. It had stopped counting! She managed to reset it, and we carried on running.
Anyway, to round up, by the time we finished running, we reckon we had gone in excess of at least twenty-nine minutes. I am suitably tired, and have decided that I will obey Jo next time, do as I’m told, and start my music when she tells me to. Sorry Jo, I won’t do it again. No, really. I really won’t. 🤯
