It was all a little chaotic this morning. Woke slightly later than normal so felt under pressure to get to the gym (I’ve still got a load of marking to do 🤦♀️). There was a time though that I’d have used it as an excuse not to go but I’m determined to establish a new mindset as I can be a workaholic and running is proving to be so good for my mental wellbeing.
Anyway at the gym the treadmill was set to MPH rather than Km and I only realised once I went to up the pace slightly to run. A frantic calculation then to work out the pace I should set it at. Meanwhile I’m trying to start my new Fitbit watch to record the run without my glasses so struggling to see what I’m doing and it might have helped had I had some idea of how to do it by reading the instructions beforehand. I think I switched it on and off a few times but it did record something. Huge respect to those of you who set your own pace without gadgets.
All in all I ran faster than I normally do but it felt ok so I kept going and even sped up at the end although I was pleased when Sarah said it was time to slow down. According to Fitbit my heart rate was in the peak zone and I need to understand the zones better. I’ve learnt that this was this run and not to expect the same for next time but I think I’ll be checking the machines before I start next time 😁
The 30 mins is getting closer and I I’ve said before I never envisaged I’d get this far but this programme really is life changing in so many ways. To everyone starting out, you can do this. Happy running 🏃♀️ 😊

I find the start of runs a bit chaotic - starting the C25K app, starting a tracking app, starting a music app or podcast. I sometimes wonder if it would be better to use nothing and just enjoy the environment, but I suppose that depends on what the environment is! I’m looking forward to having the option in the future, if graduation ever comes. Well done on completing W8 R2 despite the chaos, 4 more to go 👍😁
My fitbit tells me I'm in peak for at least two thirds of my run. There are things you need to input to make it more relevant to you. I don't do well with reading instructions though. I am a bloke after all 🤣
I’ve had a look online to see if I could find more info about the rates but I presume you have to get it properly monitored. I feel ok and before I had this one for Christmas I was blissfully unaware so not sure if I need to get it checked but I rarely see a GP.
I've absolutely no concerns at all. I feel fine when I'm running, I feel fine after I'm running. So I figure its something to just look at with a passing interest rather than anything else
Well done on your run... even if it was the wrong one it’s hopefully given you a massive confidence boost after the last one👍🏻. We’re nearly there only a few more to do 😊
