Not going to lie, I wasn’t looking forward to this one. The weather gave everything it had got - gusty wind, sleet, rain, snow, and sunshine occasionally too. Layered up with cropped leggings under jogging bottoms, t shirt, base layer, zipped hoody, thermal lined snood, beanie, and took sun glasses which I needed to keep the sleet out of my streaming eyes. Strangely exhilarating though, so thoroughly enjoyed it (once it was over) 😜
I just tracked the run today, and it was only marginally better pace than when I tracked the whole thing which is a bit disappointing, but I hope to work on that in the not too distant future.
Happy running folks 👍😁

Ten out of ten for enthusiasm! Not surprised your pace was only marginally better if you were up against all that the weather was throwing at you. It's bound to improve on your next outing so that's something positive for you to look forward to. Don't forget - I'm watching you! 🤣
I'm going to have to run this evening now! Here I am, cosy + warm sat on the sofa, not run since Parkrun on Saturday and telling myself it's far too nasty out there, then I read your valiant effort and I've no bloomin excuse now have I?
I'm sure I'll be grateful for the inspiration later, but right now....🤬🤬😁😁.
I know it's easier said than done, I was exactly the same, but try not to worry about pace, it will take care of itself as you increase distance through strength + stamina.
Since graduating in December I've increased my short runs to 4.3 miles and do a longer one once a week, best so far is 6.8 miles and without consciously trying to improve I've taken nearly 2 mins off my Parkrun times in the 5 I've done this year, it just happens.
Plus, its nasty out there, you were wearing loads of extra kit and you're recovering from injury, give yourself a break, you're doing great!
Yup, I'm invigorated! Cold, wet + blown about all over but back home with a big smile. Storm Dennis coming this weekend apparently, more invigoration.......yippee! 😁😁👍👍
You look well wrapped up Wenderwoo and you would need it . It's very cold out today. Well done you for getting your run done. Don't worry about the stats of your run it's going great 😊😊😊
Well done for getting that done - you look well wrapped up! I bet you’ll be faster when the wind isn’t blowing a gale at you, so don’t be disappointed at the pace 👍🏻
Wow Wenderwoo how can you possibly be disappointed with that??!!! You are Wonder Woman in my eyes going out in this weather!! I’m just making a shepherds pie, looking out of the kitchen window thanking God that’s it’s not run day for me!!! And then I read your post and feel like a proper snowflake!!! Well done, properly dressed for the occasion too, there’s just no stopping some folk!! 💪🏻🏃🏼♀️
Well done to you Wenderwoo on completing run 2 of week 8, 28 minutes of running in hail, wind and rain, congratulations, you don't look too cold in that photograph as you are well wrapped up, onwards and upwards to run 3 of week 8, not long now until you graduate. 😊 🏃🏾, please don't be too disappointed 😥, nothing to be disappointed with. 😊
and only had wind to cope with! I only got as far as the gate before I turned around for an extra layer 😂. Not long now and you are getting the runs in. 🏃♀️🏃♀️
Great going! Soon be on that final week. Great dedication in getting there after all you've been through.

Good for you getting out there and not letting the weather beat you! Looking good too in your beanie hat & shades. You must have been the most stylish runner out there today! Brr!
