First run done.

First jog.... I won’t say run, completed. It would have been easier if I didn’t have to keep reminding the dog that there was no time to sniff, pee or other.

Also joined Slimming World online as really want to shift 2 stone. Hoping that announcing it on here will ensure I don’t back down. lol

Well done for starting! It may not feel like it at the start, but the next few weeks are going to be great. Keep things slow, use the rest days to rest and remember it’s about time on your feet, not speed and distance! I hope your dog is on board with what’s to come? :-)

Well the dog is also middle aged and now snoozing so I think her walk is gonna be after my runs.

A dogs gotta sniff!!!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done!! You’ve done the hard bit and started. I used to take the dog with me at first because I started the programme with lockdown and we could use the golf course as our running track which meant she was free to sniff and do her thing. But as the runs got longer I found that I couldn’t keep an eye on her as well so I had to keep it separate. And rudely now the golfers are back on the golf course!! I had anticipated this and been running on pavements but even so!!!😛 ( must add at this point that hubby and son are two of the said golfers!)

Enjoy the journey - I’m nearly done and this programme is brilliant - I would never have thought I would be running for 28 minutes non stop!!

This is a great forum too for support and advice - Keep is posted on how it’s going.
