I finally got out there and did it! None of my friends could make it and it was raining, so I was gonna put it off until tomorrow but I thought no just do it!
It wasn't so bad, I mustn't be as unfit as I thought, but what's more I enjoyed it!! Who'd have thought it! The worst hurdle was getting myself outside, which has put me off running for years, but I managed!
I had trouble getting my pacing right at first but I got it in the end I think. When it came to my last run I upped the pace because I felt comfortable to do so. I even found myself itching for the walk bit to end so I could run!
I'm looking forward to W1R2 now! I couldn't do it without this forum I don't think, or at least I would have put it off! Hope you guys are all doing good with your runs

Great stuff and well done. As you say the hardest bit was getting yourself out the door.
C25K is designed to be suitable for all ages and sizes and as a youngster you may find the early runs to be less challenging, physically, than some of us oldies. All I would say is just take it easy and don't push too hard - you are working muscles in ways that you haven't for a while and over exertion is the most common way to cause injury.
Thank you! That sounds sensible. Around the 4th run my legs started to hurt but I felt okay enough to see how I could go on the last run, I didn't go crazy, but Ill make sure to take it easy. I ended up about 20 mins from home so I had a long cool down too. I'm just gonna make sure I listen to my body and not push too hard etc!
Brilliant, great run, and you did it alone, that's a really big step, but you will never have another 'first time I've run outside on my own' to get through!
Remember you need to pace to finish so slow and steady as you need is the key.
Fantastic, well done. Sometimes you just have to say what the heck and give it a go. That's the first one out of the way. Just try not to do too much too soon, it's tempting but just take your time and enjoy xx
Well done you! In the rain too! Sounds like you did brilliantly. Remember - slow and steady to just get through each running section. Plenty of time for speed later. So glad you enjoyed it!
Well done. It's easy to find dozens of excuses not to get out there, but you have the right attitude. It's tough with friends, they can either help or hinder, but it's good to take charge of yourself as you did. Happy running
Well done for getting the first run under your belt! And you did it in the rain💦 ...proper good runner attitude that! Sounds like you did it comfortably too, so that will make it easier when you head out for the next one! Good luck🙂
Know how you are feeling. I did my first run this morning and enjoyed it. Hoping my day 2 will be Thursday, and that I still feel the enthusiasm I feel right now.
