Not sure how I got to here. Very dear friend has done it and looks amazing as a result. 59 years old and I need to build the future not fight the past. So here goes.

Well done for starting! Lots of us on this running adventure are no spring chickens! The forum is great - encouraging, empathetic, supportive. You will get loads of advice and above all, encouragement if you have any wobbles along the way!

Good luck and let us know how you are doing!

Great to get started - trust me, I am mid-50's, never thought i would start or cope, let alone be about to complete W6R3. Was (and still am tbh) a little overweight - but since I started, sticking with the programme, I have lost weight, look better, feel fitter and look forward to the next run every time. Stick with it, push through the tough runs and you will really, really benefit from it, in many ways. This forum is the place to be - the support here is fantastic.

Welcome to the forum and well done on making a start.

I really like your comment about building the future. There are many of us on here investing time in C25k and doing just that. Be warned though, this running lark soon becomes addictive! You will reap the benefits which go beyond just improving your physical fitness.

Posting about your progress on here is a great way to keep motivated and you will receive plenty encouragement and support from fellow forum members.

Good luck and happy running. 😊

Many thanks for all the support. Just finished. Who knew 60 seconds could be so long, first 60 were incredibly hard (and I walk a lot) persevered, played the Rocky soundtrack for goodness sake (showing my age again). Enjoying having joined the community. Actually rather looking forward to W1R2 (getting the hang of the code).

Good luck with Run 2. I am galvanised by all this support, pretty sure there will be tough days ahead but very keen. Might even buy some new shoes. All the best

You are a star,,,, well done! I treated myself every week to one little ‘prize’, new socks, running belt, shorts, top, hat, snoody /buff thing, now I have all the gear, and only a little idea!
