Week 1 done!

I did week 1 run 3 this morning. I didn’t enjoy this one, it was much harder work.

When my alarm went off this morning, my first thought was “Why are you doing this? This is not for people like you. You’re kidding yourself and once the initial enthusiasm wears off, you’ll give up”.

Nevertheless, I got myself up, I went out to the park and I did it.

Just proving you are not giving up yet so well done you

Just when you start to think is this doing any good and worth it it becomes addictive and you just go

Those gremlins niggle away though as it’s as much a mental challenge as a physical one

Enjoy your running journey

Hi, that is exactly the reply I was about to leave. Weeks one and two were more about the urge not to give up rather than enjoyment. Now, with my wk5r3 planned for tonight I find I am actually looking forward to my runs and miss them on my rest days. I cant say the runs are getting any easier but the fact i complete them must mean I am improving.

They will become more enjoyable one day we found it was after the programme that we really started to enjoy them but we can be a bit boring because on rest days we keep talking about our next run

"Why am I doing this to myself".

My exact words to myself in week one.

Truth is, though we all have different reasons for starting, we know exactly why we're doing it.

Just keep reminding yourself of that reason.

You're doing great. Week 1 over and done with already.

Give yourself 2 rest days now and go again.

Keep us updated :-)

Well done on completing it. Some runs are more enjoyable than others, and occasionally you get one that you don’t enjoy at all. But the next one after that is usually great in my experience 😁
