Week 1 - done!

Just done W1R3 this morning, it was my first morning run, I usually run after work. I feel like running in the morning made it tougher, I had nothing to eat before I went out and only a quick swig of water so probably not a good start. Think I’ll still to later runs in the future.

Struggled a bit on the first two runs as usual, but they are uphill so to be expected. By the 4th run I really felt like I could have carried on to the kind of lengths I’m going to need next week.

I’m thinking of extending my warm up walk so that all my runs are on the level ground, might see how those first two runs go next week on the longer runs and then make my mind up.

Getting myself a pair of proper running trainers this week - I’ve got the bug!

Well done.

If you look at the FAQs you will find a post explaining why the first few minutes are the most difficult for many......the toxic ten.

Extending your warm up will get you further through this phenomenon.

If buying shoes you might find this guide helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Thank you - I’ll give the extended walk a go and read the guide.

I had a read of the buying trainers guide the other night, cheers!

Well done Annie - the rain is at least half the reason I decided to get up and get out this morning, I did manage to beat it! Good luck next week 😀

Thanks Sola, it definitely felt that way before my first run Monday!

Even though I’m only three runs in I can feel myself getting fitter already. Not getting out of breath going up the stairs or if I have to make a quick dash across the road etc.

I played tennis on Thursday and could feel I was moving better.

Here’s to next week 💪🏼

It’s a great feeling isn’t it? I’ve found so many things are easier and swam last sunday first time for ages and felt stronger and faster
