Hi everyone. I did w1r3 this morning. Finding it very strange that I kind of enjoyed it as I've never run before (not even at school).
A bit nervous about stepping it up to w2 as quite unfit. How big are the steps between the different weeks?

Well done for completing the first week!
Even though I seriously struggled to run for one minute when I started, I've found that the programme does ensure that you are capable of moving on to the next stage. It's amazing how effective it is, and Laura's encouragement definitely helped me. If you feel your struggling a bit, then just slow it down until you feel you're coping better. As long as you keep moving, no matter how slowly, then you'll do it!
They are just different enough to be challenging!
Don't think about future weeks. It's easy to get ahead of yourself and start worrying unduly. The programme is perfectly stuctured so you will be fine. Take it easy, slow jogging is just fine.
Good luck
Well done for starting. The steps are incredibly well judged. Laura tells you that you are ready for the next step and amazingly you find you are. Some people repeat weeks; there is no rush but if you complete the runs in one week you will find you are ready for the next, You enjoyed it and that's the main thing,
I agree totally with the previous replies! Laura is both challenging and encouraging. Also, there's never any shame in repeating runs. It's all designed for us to complete at our own pace. Above all, enjoy your journey....good luck!
It is best not to look at the weeks ahead as your head will imagine you cannot manage it! Laura, on the other hand, knows it can be done, as do the thousands of people who have completed the programme. My advice is, take it easy if it feels tough, always have a rest day in between runs and keep on logging onto this brilliant forum. You can definately do it!
Well done for getting started. Take it easy and take each step when you're ready. I took well over the recommended time to complete the program, but I did it in the end. Main thing is to keep improving.
The biggest step is getting started in the first place. I found it hard from one week to another early on but if i thought i wasnt ready, I just repeated runs, got there in the end but took me longer than the allocated weeks...
Well done on completing week 1. I think it is the hardest week in many ways. As long as you complete a week per Laura's instructions you are ready to start the next week. I had serious doubts about one of the later weeks but various people on this forum (no names mentioned but there are some very assertive women on here!) left me in no doubt that I should just follow the instructions and get on with it. Result was I got through all the weeks perfectly OK. Keep going. You will surprise yourself.
Well done for starting the programme. I can't add to anything that's already been said - take it slow and steady, take your rest days (they are important because this is when the muscles recover and repair themselves so as to come back stronger) and if (only IF) you feel the need, you can repeat runs/weeks - there is no time limit. You will be fine. Good luck with week 2 and best wishes.
Thank you all for the replies and encouragement. It's lovely to hear from people who have been there and succeeded.
Have just laid out my running gear ready for tomorrow morning (I have to sneak out early without waking the kids otherwise I don't manage to get out). Fingers crossed it isn't raining too hard!
Well done ! Cant add anything more to what everyone else has said. Enjoy your running ! Its the best thing Ive ever done xx
