After over TWO weeks NOT running - I'm back! And I did a decent 3km run compared with recent ones the weeks before my 'cold'.
The first five mins were tough... and so were the last 10 (bit too much incline on my way back), but it was WORTH IT!
So, even if you've had a cold, flu or been ill.... you can just 'run again' after resting up.
Don't give up, or get put off ... you can come back...
AND I'm just about to see if I can enroll in my first 5k public run on the 21st (they don't do Park Run here sadly).... so I have a week to regain fitness and have a bit of fun in a group.
Picture: me in my new super-super light weight jacket - almost like paper, but very visiable and it seems to be breathable! (from Amazon about 23 quid) - it started to drizzle when I was out - and my dogs put in a complaint, but then it stopped (and dogs carried on)!

It's nice that you are back to running after a short two weeks break from running.
Good 3K for you, I often run a 3K as my mid week run or if I miss a parkrun on a Saturday, I often run, run 3 of week 5 with Laura of C25K fame when I do that 20 minute run.
Sorry about your cold but glad to hear that it has gone, makes your runs much more comfortable. Fantastic attitude you have, "never give up"
Good luck for your first parkrun on the 21st December, there might be a few runners running in Christmas jumpers and red Santa hats which I wore at the parkrun I was at this morning
Good photo of you in your new light weight jacket, enjoy your runs, especially that first parkrun this Saturday.
yes - seriously hard, especially when its dull, cloudly, cold and/or raining too! So I'm really pleased wth myself and the result. Thanks for all the support everyone xx
Thank you for your inspirational post. I have had a two week break caused by a change of routine and now I am worrying about how my next run will go. So of course putting it off. You’ve just proved that I shouldn’t need to.
