And I'm back...

A while back, I was doing C25K. If I'd stayed on it, no doubt I'd be running 5K like a pro, but I got ill and had to take a couple of weeks off. Then I got worse and had to stop entirely because I was losing weight despite eating like a horse.

Today, I finally got back. I'm doing my best not to lose any more weight and hoping to even put some on in the form of muscle, but I'm trying to get in shape more than anything else. Those same health issues that were eating away at me (malabsorption from IBS trying to destroy the lining of my gut) are under control and should get even better if I can get into shape.

Today, I did W1R1 for what I hope is the last time. It hurt a little and I'm sure I'll stiff in the morning, but it was nowhere near as bad as the first time. Nine weeks takes me into September, but probably not the cold bits, so that's not so bad. My birthday's in September and my daughter starts at her new school, so lots to look forward to.

Sounds like you've had a rough time. Well done for getting back on the program - make sure you listen to your body though and don't over do it after your illness.

Best of luck !

This time, I'm not allowed lactose and gluten, so I can't have the post-run Guinness that I used to enjoy, but at least I am not worried about whether I can finish the run before I need the toilet...

Hi, good you're back and feeling a bit better. Just take it easy and listen to your body please - better to take longer to do the plan than overdo it! Good luck and keep blogging. Love the name!

What a great goal to aim for! You have lots of time. Good on you for taking this brave step after such a horrible illness, good luck and take care!

Hi Prince_of_cats, this Oldgirl did C25K twice, repeated due to being crippled with Sciatica and had to have 3 months off exercise of any sort. I started back at week 1 and only missed a couple of the earlier runs out as I found them easy enough, but I would strongly advise you listen to your body. I wish you all the best for a successful re-run!! My birthday is in September too and I love Guinness so will have 1 or maybe even 2 to celebrate with you. :)
