Back again. I finished Couch to 5k last autumn, but every run was giving me shin pain by then. Tried a couple of weeks off, didn't help. It never got too bad, but I think best to nip it in the bud before it does. So after Christmas (which involved a bit of running, pushing my nephew along on his scooter) I've done nothing for a month.
Today I've had a gait analysis and new shoes. From a short run they look like they may have done the trick, despite a blister on my heel, but I couldn't manage half of what I could! So I'm thinking back to C25k, although not right from the start, perhaps just the second half.
I really want to get back to this!

Welcome back... we are still here and there is still loads of support for you !
So many of us, including me, have repeated all or some parts of C25K... some, including me, more than once!
A familiar friend... and you know you can do this, so, maybe start with a fairly gentle, see how you go run... and listen to what your body is saying.. it really is your nest guide...
I have been unable because of time constraints and appalling weather been unable to run regularly for a few months...and I have not run since last Wednesday.. so I am realistic and when I go out, it will be for a very gentle one.
Do please let us know how you are progressing, it is so helpful for our Newbies, to see how good this programme is.
Also, do, please pop across to the S and F forum, keeping up your core strength and stamina work is so useful!
Good to see you're back 😁The only blister I've had while running was caused by my socks. A tiny little bobble of cotton caused a massive blister the size of a 10p.
Since then I've worn Balega socks. They're expensive but I'm still wearing a pair that's over 3 years old so I reckon I've got my.moneysworth.
Blister plasters work really well with the healing process too.
Welcome back. If I’ve had a break due to illness or injury I start again at week 5 and 🤞within a week or so I surprise myself by being back up there Good luck
welcome back Reorte …I think your plan is a good one & getting that gait analysis sounds like it was a great decision…good luck and remember, slow and steady 😉
What terrific news. Proper shoes will make all the difference!!
More than a decade ago I had terrible shin splints which stopped all of my running. When I decided to do C25K again, I got new shoes and my shins only bothered me a bit in the Toxic 10 (the first ten minutes of a run).
