Hi gang!

I've been out for my first proper run in over a week! I've been feeling proper poorly but I'm much better now I'm back at work!!!!! Typical!

I did okay, quite slow but I ran every stop of it which for that distance is a first! I'm finding my breathing is completely sorted now and although I feel a bit puffed, it's not in an uncomfortable way. I think I need to improve my stamina now! I am entered into a 5 miler in June so that will be my first ever proper event. I'm looking forward to it! Then it'll be Race for Life the following weekend.

So that's it for now. Hope everyone is well and doing okay!

Nice one Elsie, have you tried the stepping stones podcasts to improve your stamina? I ran my last greatrunlocal 5k listening and running to the beats, tough but doable

Well done running bud. Looks like a few of us have been out for a while including me. Mighty impressed with the distance, I'm gonna stick to 5K until I have done the run in March, and then start to increase the distance. How's it feel running in the new shoes?

It's been lovely running in the new shoes! I felt no pain in my left leg so whatever the shoes were meant to have done, I think they have worked!!! Well done on doing the 5K's, you're doing great!

Have you had the lurgy too?

Thank you. No lurgies, just some pain in the right shin. Think the 9 weeks pounding has caught up and taken it's toll.

Glad to hear you're feeling better Elsie. It is good to know you can take a break and all is not lost. We all worry we'll lose it if we don't use it but a week or two off doesn't seem to make a huge difference.
