I graduated from Couch to 5K back in May, and I have just taken part in my first proper event. It was the Aspipre Warmley Sunset 5K, a lovely cross country event with around 200 runners. The weather was perfect, a warm sunny evening with a beutiful sunset and hot air balloons drifting overhead. The atmosphere was great and the course challenging and varied - across fields, woodland trails, tarmac paths and scrubland.
I managed to run the whole way, and I am rather pleased with myself - I came in 97th with a time of 31mins 35 seconds, and got my first event medal! Chuffed to bits!
Now to aim for 10K!!

Thank you! I was wondering why I was standing like that but realised I could barely bend my legs in the immediate aftermath of crossing the line! Haha!
Great running... brilliant time too, especially on a challenging course. A very special medal there as it’s the first of many! Enjoy that journey to 10k.
I was looking at the event page for that not long ago, think someone from one of the forums is doing it. The journey from 5-10 is easier than C25K, I think you’re gonna love it.
Good luck! I hope you have a great time! The atmosphere of a race event really helps the motivation. I was exhausted but I really enjoyed it, and I hope you will too - share how you get on!
