Week 17 and I've just completed my first 5K race, finishing in 28 mins 31 secs. When I first started out on the C25K programme it took me 39 minutes to run/walk 5K. Stick to the programme and keep pushing yourself - You CAN do it!
My first 5K race: Week 17 and I've just... - Couch to 5K
My first 5K race
Well done! I feel like a wimp now only managing a 3k this morning for my first race π
Congratulations Tim! And great pacing too, very steady! That's an excellent time π
What a great time Tim - well done.
Great! That'll be me in a couple of weeks' time! However, I am definitely going to be lucky if I even do 5k in 40 minutes. Oh well!
You will be running your own race - we all do. The only person you're trying to beat is yourself..... And maybe the person who happens to be next to you at the finish line
Running 5K in 40 minutes is far better than not running at all. You're doing great, and if you push yourself a little harder each week you will get faster. The main thing is that you're getting fresh air and exercise
True! I am nervous about my first race though... What was it like?
Speedy! Well done
Brilliant! Congratulations on your first piece of bling! And in a great time too! π
Great photo. Well done ! I'm still not doing under 30 minutes for 5K yet. But the speed second by second increases in time. It's the health benefits and great sense of achievement that counts.
Not seen a Black and White photo in ages like it. Looking good in those cool shades !
Well done! I completed my first 5k last week too, took me just over an hour to do but I'm still on Week 8 ^^
Woohoo! Great stuff! Racing is such a blast isn't it! π One of the many benefits of learning to run and getting fit is just what fun racing is.
Here's to the next one π
28 minutes for 5k, you are good
