Yesterday evening I ran my first race. It was a fantastic experience and was one of my goals after graduating from C25K. I'm very proud of my piece of bling.π I also wanted to do the 5K race at a sub 30 minute time, and I did it, just about but I did it. My time was 29:56. Had to dig deep for it, thanks to all of you for the encouragement.
First Race: Yesterday evening I ran my first... - Couch to 5K

Brilliant run, lovely bling ππͺπ»ππ»

Well done, Damien. Two in one!
Just a quick tip. To maximise PB heaven, only beat your previous PB by a small margin, otherwise you have to wait such a long time for the next one to come along..........I speak from experience.
Keep running, keep smiling.
Thanks. My Parkrun PB at my local course is 31:04. It is a 3 lap course of a town Park. There is a hill which saps energy and needs to be climbed 3 times. So I think it will be a while yet before I get fit enough to achieve a sub 30 min Parkrun time.
But the race started downhill and was mostly flat. If I was to achieve a sub 30 min 5K that was my opportunity.
I'll keep the 2 PB's separate. Local Parkrun PB and Race PB.
Damien

Very well done..beautiful bling... beautiful time and beautiful smiles
Bling and a pb, what a start to a weekend. Well done you...

Congratulations, two great achievements.

Amazing run damienair! Congrats on the sub 30 also. Its inspiring! I know you've been working hard for that one. Couldn't have happened at a better time! ππΌππΌππΌ . My first race is next week. Hoping I can do the same.
Best wishes for your race next week. Last nights race started down hill. I went off too fast. I thought I was OK. But managed to hold an average Pace of just under 6min/km. I was exhausted on the 4th kilometre. Enjoy.

Well done. First park run today, so I think a race has got to be so one. Well done on y o url current PB.

Well done - you just keep hitting your goals, must be doing something right!
