I did my first Couch to 5K run earlier, it felt so hard at first but I soon got into it, just hope my body allows me to continue, I suffer with arthritis in my hip and knee and wondered if anyone has any experience of this? Any tips would be appreciated 😊

Welcome and well done you..

Please, please, do check out the essential post for Newbies:)

We have a fair few on here with similar issues, although they won't be the same as yours:)

As long as you have the okay to run from your medical experts, ( GP etc,) then you should be fine...

This is interesting..( not sure if you are Male or female...)

Weĺl done for starting! That's a really big obstacle overcome.

My knee and hip arthritis has improved as my legs have got stronger. I gave myself 2 days rest between runs on the programme and stretched really well at the end. But I reckon I got there primarily with the Japanese slow running technique (You can find it on u-tube). The short steps and landing with slightly bent knees are much kinder on the poor old joints.

Good luck!

Thank you Lifluf looking forward to being stronger It’s good to know that the plan can be adapted and still successful. I’m learning so much from everyone here

I managed the program even though I have Fibromyalgia. I have since graduation got a stress fracture in my toes but this is just unfortunate.

I used this nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/s... for stretching. Good luck x

Well done. I have slight arthritis in my toe but the good think about C25K I have found is the gradual build up helps. I would say keep to the tips don’t exercise more than they say and know your limits.
