Today was my first run without Laura. It was strange not having her periodic bursts of encouragement. I am so used to my route the various milestones, a bridge here a pub there, helped to gauge how I was getting on. I was taking it easy because I am still recovering from an operation but it doesn’t seem to make any difference to the speed. So this is my life, every other day for the next couple of months a 15 minute warm up walk, 30 minute run & 15 minute cool down walk. Then after Christmas I shall start training for my first 10k in May.
In April this year I weighed 99kg. With a combination of diet and exercise I now weigh 75kg and am fitter than I have been for more than 30 years. What a fantastic programme this is. I could not recommend it more fully to anyone who is thinking of trying it. You can do it, we all can do it.

There is something strange about not having Laura in your ear it's like she's always been part of your running journey and always should be but you don't need her now you can do it on your own.
The best thing for me was finding new routes to run it keeps it interesting.
So amazing you've lost 24kg I also lost loads of weight. It feels so good when all your hard work pays off.
I am sure it will not be long before you join me as a graduate. Your next run was the big one for me. Once you complete that it should be plain sailing to the Finnish. Good luck and enjoy it.
Well done and congratulations on your graduation and amazing weight loss! Sounds like your plans are similar to mine, I thought about starting the magic plan with the November group but decided to consolidate until Christmas and start in the new year! Best of luck on your journey!
It’s odd when the plan is finished and you don’t have the encouragement of a trainer....for our first few runs i kept an eye on the time and ding a ling a linged at the half way point it made us laugh and dog walkers look at us strangely
Snap! It was my first run without Jo Whiley tonight and it felt strange not having the prompts of how long you’ve done or got left. I was wondering if there’s some kind of app that does that?
Some people just rerun week 9 run 3 over and over so they can have these reminders. Samsung S health will give you updates every mile or km and I think apps like strava will also do this.
