2 years ago I developed a (non cancerous) tumor in my spinal column. Surgery removed it and I was confined to a wheelchair for the best part of 4 months. I am an ex rugby player that put on a total of 40 kg since the operation. Joined a gym 2 months ago and now I’m starting on this.
God, I hate running unless I’m chasing a ball around a field so with Sarah Millican in my ear and Spotify on loop (and maybe I’ll bring a rugby ball for comfort) I’m committed to giving this 100%

It’s a life changer! Set your three run days and stick to them rain, hail, snow or shine (but maybe not ice🤣). Well done! Update us regularly as this forum is key!
I learnt to run for 30 minutes with Sarah Millican, she's so gentle, such a nice feeling to remember her instructions and encouragement, not that long ago for me. Best wishes to you Panzer1896.
You can still run around fields.. it is fantastic...Slow, steady, take every single thing in...post your runs fro incredible support and encouragement..
So get out there, get that first run done and you are on your way!
Glad to hear you’ve recovered. Good luck for your 1st run, I’m sure you’ll begin to enjoy this new journey you are taking - take a rugby ball if it helps you, who cares what people think (especially if you run back and fore on a rugby pitch!) Complete the programme at your pace so if you feel you need to repeat a run or week, do so - no shame in it, many have and many will - remember it’s your journey, no one else’s! Let us know how you get on 🤗 x
Hi Panzer1896, given your previous sporting workload, I'm sure you will not only try but convert this with a winning result. I started my journey last week and this morning I started W2 R1... you've got this... and the support on this forum is terrific.
Hey, that's an amazing journey so far. Good luck with the running ... it's not my bag either but it's a very useful "means to an end" for me. And you'll get lots of help and support on here, so there's nothing to lose (and everything to gain!).
