First Week Completed

Having never run before, am feeling super proud of completing week one, although have a pain in one hip-anyone else? Not sure if I have damaged it in some way or is just my body reacting to exercise!

I’ve just done week one, I feel v achey in my legs. I would just keep monitoring the hip to find out what it is, it might just be getting used to movement. My partner’s a mad runner and runs through odd aches and pains. Hope you enjoy week two!

Thanks, I feel inspired after first week and am looking forward to week 2. I will take it slowly-watch this space!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Minor aches are to be expected, but by following the instructions and keeping nice and slow you can keep injury risk minimal.

Enjoy your journey

Well done on week one, the hardest week, you’re right to be proud.

You’re new to this and so don’t have the runner mentality of “it hurts... I’m injured!” yet, so that’s good. See how the pain is tomorrow, and again before you run again... take an extra rest day if you feel the need.
