I can't believe I'm going to write this but I've actually run (slow jogged in reality!) for 30 minutes continuously today. It wasn't easy, or pretty and I think I'm only covering just over 2 miles in that time but if I go any faster I know I won't make it to 30 mins, which is my sole aim at the moment. It wasn't totally enjoyable, never is if I'm totally honest, but once I have the first run of a new week under my belt I know I can do it for the rest of that week. I always feel awesome after each run which keeps me motivated and enthused, as do you lot with your own tales and stories, encouragement and advice. I lap it all up as it's made me believe in this overweight, asthmatic, +++ middle aged body of mine is going to graduate!
W9R1 - One Down Two To Go! : I can't believe I'm... - Couch to 5K
W9R1 - One Down Two To Go!
Well done......you are doing really well!
Doesn't matter at all about your distance.....the wonderful thing is that you ran for 30 minutes, which is exactly what the programme sets out to do.
I am a little ahead of you in that I hit the big 50 earlier on this year!😂
I graduated last week and am not yet at 5k but that doesn't matter at all......i run for 30 minutes!
Keep going slow and steady.....you are nearly there!!🏃♀️🏃♀️
Nice one - two more to go!
Wow Big50, you really are almost there! How great that you have that first 30 minuter under your belt. You can now relax in the knowledge that you can do it, so the final two runs should be really enjoyable for you! 👊👏😀👍
Looking forward to toasting your success in a few days! 🥂 😀
You'll soon be 50, and you'll soon be a graduate! Get that champagne on ice!
Thank you. It's a few months until I'm 50 as I've given myself enough time to keep on running, get fit, lose some lbs and I'm hoping I'll actually enjoy running. I can't believe I've managed to stick to the programme!
You will grow to love it! C25K is hard work because it pushes you further every week. Once you've graduated you can relax and set your own goals, and it becomes fun!
And I'm the big 50 already, so trust your elders!
You're doing so well. Keep it up. Soon you will be graduating.
Thank you! Me? A graduate? I would never have believed it just 9 weeks ago!
Sat here reading the forum trying to avoid W9 R2 - its dark and COLD!!!! I am totally with you on the enjoyment bit. Enjoy your graduation at the weekend, hopefully I will just pip you - now where did I put that motivation............
I was lucky today as I had a day off so could run in the daylight tho it was cold. I haven't actually done any night running at all, 4pm is the latest I've run out so far. Once I've graduated (get me!) I hope I can be more flexible with my running days as I usually a very rigid, stick to regular day type person. Good luck on you graduating this week too!
