W5R1 - Well Hello Laura!

Decided to switch audio coach to Laura and she definitely kept me going when I thought I wasn't going to make it but I pushed on, slowed down even more and gritted my teeth to do it. I'm not sure how I'm going to fair with W5R2 with the two 8 min slot but I'm hoping it's mind over matter and that Laura will get me through it!

I'm really trying to convince myself that it is mind over matter as my legs did not believe that today! They felt very heavy, laboured and very slow in the last section, I felt I was dragging myself along. I'm not sure 'enjoy' will be in my weekly round up but something as equally as positive would be good!

There was an article in runners world (I think) where some research had proved that it’s the brain that tells the legs that they’re tired rather than the other way round. If it was in RW I’ll try to find a link.

When you look at what you’ve done so far, 1 minute was hell... now 5 is a doable, 8 is a challenge... you get to 5 and maybe have to dig deep for 3... your mind can do that... just keep that pace down and all will be well.

Edit: wrong magazine... here you go. fitnessmagazine.com/workout...
