My first run

I felt like a right potato. The new sports leggings I bought are see through and kept rolling into my C-section scar, my bra strap kept slipping and my earphones kept popping out 🙄 Ideal. But I did it! I'm determined to lose some weight but mainly I'm running for my mental health 🙂

Bless you! Well done for doing it though! My earphones kept popping out on my first run too. Had to get bigger shells to put on them. How old is your c-section scar?

Thank you! The most recent version of it is almost 3 years old. I've had three since 2008. So it really is about time I tried to shift the mum tum 😳 Are you novice runner? I'm hoping to get the running bug everyone talks about!

I suppose it's not sore now then? I have one that's 5.5 years old. Doesn't bother me now.

Yes, brand new runner here. Just started week 9! The programme is fantastic!

Well done! I have learned to tie the drawstring on my running trousers, to prevent rolling waistbands. Also, I highly recommend a racer-back sports bra to avoid strap slippage.

Running is bloomin' marvellous for your mental health - it's all those endorphins, you know (or "dolphins" as my lovely friend calls them!) I still haven't found totally comfortable earphones...

Keep up the good work :)

But you are no longer a ‘Couch’ Potato, and that’s the main thing!😀

There are many people who start this unable to face the general public, and do the first few week on a treadmill, in the comfort of their own homes, so they would be very impressed that you made it out the door.

A good sports bra and big knickers, and when you get to week 4 and decide you might like this whole running thing, then get fitted for some proper running shoes.

That graduate badge will soon be next to your name!

You did it 💪👍😃. Go you. See-through leggings ☹️ I think we all had at least one pair of those. Get some thicker ones, adjust your bra strap or get a racer back one, and a headband to keep your earbud in place. A Buff makes a good headband You’ll then be all set to go. Running stuff isn’t expensive, thankfully. My Nike Filament, and Saucony Winter weight type running tights are good and thick, as are my Ron Hill high viz one’s 👍

Have fun. Slow and steady is all you need to remember 👍

Great job... you for out there, you had gremlins, but you beat them and finished the job. Very good start.

Weight loss probably needs a nutritional change, running doesn’t bring much loss by itself... but it should certainly help with mental health.
