That's my first run done, of week one, and it's not what I expected. It was quite enjoyable. The weather, not so much; according to the Met Office, I was out in temperatures that feel like -6C, combined with a wind that pummelled me with 46mph gusts. Roll on summer!
Sheena is a Punk Rocker by the Ramones was the first tune to play through my big lugs for my first outing. The 1970's legends certainly got my blood pumping ☺
One minute seemed to take me around twenty strides, although it was probably around two hundred. The ninety second breathers were really welcome at the halfway point. My heart was pumping away quite nicely at 165bpm and settled down fairly quickly afterwards. Overall, I feel quite good.
I'm pleased that I've taken that first step in trying to up my fitness levels, and overall health, and am looking forward to my second run.
The BBC C25K app was a little disappointing as it kept crashing on me. I ended up counting the minutes as I ran. A quick look-up on Google tells me it's a common problem with the C25K app. Hopefully I've rectified the crash.
If I was to score my first run out of ten, I'd give myself a six - not bad, but could be a lot better.

Sounds like you did great to me! I have the utmost respect for people who start running in the winter. I was a wuss and started at the end of August a couple of years ago. If you can run in this weather, think how lovely it will be in the spring! I love spring running.
I cannot comment on the BBC app as I used the NHS one. Hope the issue is resolved now.
If you feel good already, just think how you’ll feel by the end of the plan! Keep going, slow and steady, and witness the miracle of being fit! All the best to you. 👍
Well done for starting out. Did you cheat by having the wind at your back?😊 Probably ran 10k if that was the case!
I found the BBC app to be a bit temperamental but it does have the advantage of being able to choose your own music. The NHS app worked well for me but the choice of music is a little eclectic to say the least.
