First run

My son and I have just finished our week 1 run 1. It was exhausting. Didn’t realise how unfit I was 😌

My son (10) is feeling motivated now, so that’s great. Less time on the Xbox for him and more fitness for us both. Just hope it gets a little easier, not sure it will though.

It might be that doing it with a 10-year-old made it all the more exhausting! Some of these kids can run awfully fast so your running intervals might have been too fast for you. Find a place to run where you can keep sight of each other and the make sure you go at a comfortable pace for you, as you may need to slow down more when the running intervals get longer.

Good idea. He is unfit but I’m surprised at how well he did. Better than me. I will def try your idea.

I do my runs with a 10year old and 7year old, they are great motivation, and definitely make me keep going as I don’t want them laughing at me.

We are currently on week 2 and doing well.

Well done for taking that first step and good luck for the rest of your runs 👍🏻 x

Stick to the plan and it will definitely start to feel easier. Well done for starting - they say the first one is the hardest.

Very well done to the both of you.

It gets easier, then harder, then easier... it is a challenging plan, but the hardest bit by far is getting started. Xbox is a great thing to do after a run too.

I’ve just finished week one and today completed the 1st run of week two & found this a little easier than last week...that nearly killed me! X

Well done to you and your Son doing it together. I’m trying to get fit again for Parkrun and was out yesterday for a run with my 9 year old. It’s great running with Kids and great for them too. Enjoy the journey together.
