Hiya! I'm joining here to try some extra encouragement to complete the programme! I've had 3 previous failed starts but I'm just about to start week 3! A bit daunted by the 3 minute runs at the moment but going to give it a try tonight! Trying to get fit after being diagnosed with asthma late last year and thinking ahead to wanting kids so trying to get myself into better health. I love running, I find it reduces my stress levels, aids my sleep and gives me energy, but my breathing makes it a lot tougher than i would like. Doing well though i think, and determined to make it to the end!

Head up and feet forward ... you can do this, I have mild Asthma and have found the breathing hard but once focussed you’ll be fine ... go for it

Thank you! I'm really enjoying it, I try to run away from roads which definitely helps! Thanks for the support!

Well done you for starting this.... a great photo there..happy runner:)

Listen to your body ( you know that anyway) and take it gently. The humidity at the moment is making the air really thick!

Slow and steady is the way.. and keep posting please:)

Thanks! I think coming on here will help! Already feel more determined!

3 minutes! Oh dear! I’m just repeating week 1. Finally did all 8 mins today. Stick with it!!!

I was surprised by how much easier run 3 of week 2 felt, from day 1 they all just felt equally hard but suddenly I felt that I could do a little more. The 3 minutes seems daunting but it's only 2 or 3 goes with some 90 sec ones too and longer recovery walks. Just keep it up, it's not designed to be easy but manageable and you can do it. Week 2 is waiting for you when you're ready and we all have your back!!

Yes, I'm already getting better but I wanna do week 1 until I feel like I'm ready to move on. It's definitely getting easier and those 2 and 3 minutes are not far ahead :) x

Well done for keeping going and as others have said, keep posting, listen to the advice of other asthma sufferers on here and I am sure you will be fine. If at any time you begin to doubt yourself, read your own profile and that will remind you why you set off on this journey in the first place, good luck!

Welcome. Great job getting to week 3. Your breathing will improve over time, asthma makes it a little tougher, but not impossible.

Don’t fear the 3 minutes, relax and go nice and slow... you’ll amaze yourself.

You'll be just fine, hon. Take it slow and steady. I just revisited a W3 run this morning too as a bit of rehab. It felt a bit daunting the first time around, but you can do it, no probs xx

Of course you did it! Did you doubt it? You’re made of the strong stuff you know. Be very proud, you did the hard work. The run was hard, but not too hard to smash. Love that you’re telling the next one to bring it already... you’re gonna go far.

Not what you're looking for?
