This is my first post. I am new to running, overweight and the wrong side of 50 but apparently it is never too late to get started so here I am. I have just completed week 2, but actually it has taken me quite a long time to get to this point. I was very unfit and could not even do week 1 when I first tried a few months ago - it really scared me and put me off trying again. So I've gradually increased my walking pace when I walked my dog and gone on longer and more strenuous walks. I tried week 1 again 3 weeks ago and was really thrilled that I could do it this time, but I did the week twice before moving on to week 2. I feel on top of the world right now, I am so proud of myself - I hope I can manage to move to week 3 on Monday.

You're awesome!! Sounds like you're listening to your body and using the app to give you some structure/guidance but adapting to your needs. Very sensible.

I have had the app on my phone over 4 years now but only felt in the right frame of mind 4 weeks ago and I still have no idea why. I'm doing weight loss separately and now this for my fitness and all round healthiness before hitting the big 5 0 end of next year. Carry on doing what you're doing. Just keep going, don't give up now you've started ☺ We are reaping the benefits already. GO YOU!!!

Hi! Well done!!! I’m also on week 2-move on at your own pace, try week 3 at least and repeat week 2 if it didn’t go as well! Just keep at it!!!!

Great tenacity and determination! This will see you do well as a runner :)

Brilliant! Well done. I think doing some walking training is a great idea if week 1 seems difficult. I did exactly the same thing before I tried week 1 for the 2nd time.

Thank you, I found this really helpful - especially the taking it slowly part. I started week 3 this morning and loved it - despite the rain.
