Google lacing techniques. If you relace with open lacing around the area getting pain it should relieve the pressure but I would look long term at whether those shoes are really right for you. 👍

Check out start fitness online. They do last season and even current models at knock down prices. Just make sure you know what size and specifics you want/ need.

Your running shoes are usually a full size bigger than your street shoes to allow room for your toes to extend fully.

Maybe pop along to a running shop for advice then peruse online. Naughty I know but if you don't know if you want support/ cushion/neutral saves buying wrong to start with.

check the FAQ POSTS in the pinned post section which has a big list of useful FAQs - one of them is called "which shoes?" - this will have loads more tips in there. If you're on a budget you can always explain that to the running shops - a good one just wants what's best for you anyway and will be staffed by runners themselves - and no runner wants to see someone get pains and injuries from the wrong shoes.

Welcome and good luck! Sounds as if the new laces helped at least.

Great! If they're not comfortable send 'em straight back and try again. Not worth the injuries if they aren't! And yeah those pinned posts are a goldmine, especially the "How to run C25K" one :)
