Hi fellow runners / walkers. I started the C25K programme and OMG - it's hard! It was much harder than I was expecting and I couldn't help but feel slightly defeated.
I would love to hear some positive stories about those who have found it difficult but stuck with it. I think I need some inspiration!!!

hi i started 13 wks a go and did my full 9 wks i never dreamed i would get to the end and run for 30 minutes . take your time and dont panic evan if you have to do a repeat of a week if you think your not ready to move on.and have faith you can do it. i have been doing mine on treadmill.hopefully want to go outside when brave enuff lol..
I've just completed run 1 of week 9 (30 mins!!) and I honestly did not believe I could ever get to that point. Two months ago I struggled with just one minute and had never really done any running apart from at school which I hated ( I so wasn't the sporty type!). So get to this point now, I feel like I'm a new person! I agree with Zee11, don't beat yourself up if you do have to repeat a week or have a week off for a holiday etc as long as you get back on it you'll be fine. I also found that my "pain" (mental and physical) comes in waves so it's not constant and it's just mind over matter to get through it. Now I've got this far and I'm almost convinced it's not a flash in the pan I'm going to treat myself to some decent trainers. Also when you get to the end you can listen to your own music which can give you more of a boost, even though getting a "well done" from Laura is really cool!
I thouight week one was one of the hardest weeks as everything is so new but you are up and off the couch well done. It did take me longer than 9 weeks but after week three felt comfortable most of the time and was hooked.
Thanks so much to all of you for your comments. I'm planning to do run number two tomorrow and I'm really hoping that I can stick with it! Thanks for the reassurance x
I couldn't believe how hard it was to run for a minute. I shouldn't really have been surprised because I've never run, didn't like running, am about 4 stone overweight and only started it to win a bet in the pub! But here I am, just fresh from the shower after W6R3 - 25 mins! I feel epic and so proud of myself, and so will you! It's not easy, but it is achievable. I've repeated a few runs cos I didn't feel I was ready, but so what? It's only between me and myself, and if I'm honest I probably should have had more faith in myself. So get out there, have faith and you will be able to do it too! Good luck.
I am at the same stage as you - first session done today. I found the hardest part was actually going outside and facing the prospect of been seen by the general public! It was hard going, but I managed and, best of all, we can now say we have Made A Start!
Snap...1st run nearly did me in but R2 today was slightly easier and i'm now looking forward to Friday's R3.. I couldn't believe running for 60 seconds could seem like for ever! but i refuse to give in.. So Bring it on week 2!!.. good luck with yours.
I've just finished W7...I'm nearly 56 years old and not in the best of health so if I can do it, you can do it too! It's hard work but so rewarding. Stick with it gal!
