Breezed through the run but still struggling with the Plantar fasciitis. Does not bother me running however suffer later.
I have had several replies on the topic but the question is do I give up, let it heal then come back to it or do I keep at it with lots of stretches and iced bottles to roll my foot on? Do I need to rest to recover or will it right itself?

Well done on progress so far Jonno. There's (predictably) loads of stuff on the web about PF, but the most common bit of advice seems to be to rest the feet. I'm no expert so reluctant to say more, but there is a good article here: sportsinjuryclinic.net/spor...
I had plantar fasciitis a few years back. Eventually went to the doc and he told me to rest it and warned me that it would eventually go away by itself but it might take months. Right on both counts, with rest it healed completely but it took a while.
My wife has this and is waiting for her first physio appointment. She is on her feet all day working in a primary school, some days the pain would have her in tears.
I had been trying to get her to come to the running shop I bought my shoes from to look at something called Oofos and finally on Saturday she agreed. We had a good chat with the shop owner who knew exactly what we were talking about. He was of the opinion that although you should rest the feet you shouldn’t completely stop running, just don’t go as far. He also said you should never go barefoot, something my wife always does round the house, as your arch need to be constantly supported. Oofos describe themselves as “recovery technology for your feet”, basically they are exceptionally comfy flip flops with arch support.
My wife lands on her heels when running and that exacerbates the plantar, so while in the shop we had her gait analysed and kitted her out with a pair of Hokkas to get her up on her toes a bit more and they have a lot of arch support, unlike the reebok trainers she was using.
On Saturday evening she was able to go for a run, redoing wk4 r1 with no foot pain at all. When she got back she switched into the Oofos and was ok for the rest of the evening. She was quite sore the next day, but wore the Oofos to work and they seem to be doing wonders, (Along with stretches/ice pack rolling/massage) and she’s been out running again this evening.
Starting to dare to hope I might get my running buddy back 🙂 (although she does seem to be faster than me now 😔)
👍🏻 I’m thinking about getting some myself and wearing them at work when everybody else has gone home. The sizes come out a bit different to usual UK, so I’m going to make sure I can try some on first tho.
I just ordered online. Live in Cyprus and have someone coming out at weekend. Fingers crossed. Did W4R2 today bit tough but ok. Feet ok at time but aching now. Find my right one worse and terrible after driving.
